What Tailwind is

Tailwind is a study tool for pilot certification, organized around the FAA Airman Certification Standards. It is not flight instruction, and it does not replace a certificated flight instructor, official FAA publications, or your own judgment as pilot in command. Always fly and study from current official sources.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself and use one account per person. We can suspend accounts that abuse the service or attempt to copy the content wholesale.

The free preview

Tailwind is currently free while in preview. When paid subscriptions launch (planned at $25/month per course), nothing will be charged to anyone without clear notice and explicit payment signup — preview access does not create a payment obligation.

Content

The chapters, questions, and diagrams are our copyrighted work. Study from them all you like; republishing or reselling them is not okay.

No warranty

We work hard on accuracy, but the service is provided as-is, and aviation regulations change. Verify anything safety-critical against current FAA sources. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for damages arising from use of the service.
