Tailwind started the way most flying projects do — with a checkride on the calendar and a stack of materials that made the knowledge harder than it needed to be. Eight-hundred-page textbooks. Question banks that teach you answer letters instead of airplanes. Notes scattered across three apps and a kneeboard.

So we built the thing we wanted: the Airman Certification Standards — the actual document your examiner grades from — rewritten in plain English, one element at a time, with diagrams you can touch and a daily quiz that remembers what you forget.

We’re a small team of aviators building this in the evenings and weekends between flights. Every chapter gets written the way a good instructor explains things at the whiteboard — and every feature exists because one of us wished it existed during our own training.
